Attorney Bio

Jason D. Fox is a trial attorney at Castro Law Group. He represents clients in family law matters across Maryland, including divorce, custody, child support, and protective orders.

Mr. Fox served as a prosecutor in St. Mary’s County. Earlier in his career he represented clients in 18 different counties across Maryland, including federal court.

That background matters most in one specific place: protective orders. A protective order is issued by a civil court, but violating one is a criminal charge. When allegations of abuse are involved, a family can end up in two courtrooms at once, with what happens in one affecting the outcome in the other. Mr. Fox has worked both sides of that line. He knows what a prosecutor looks for when deciding whether to bring charges, and he knows how a civil judge weighs the same set of facts in a custody decision.

He graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration and worked in the financial sector before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Cases that turn on income records, business ownership, or support calculations draw on that earlier work.

Mr. Fox represents both plaintiffs and defendants in domestic cases. That is less common than it sounds. Attorneys who have only ever represented one side tend to argue from one script. Having sat at both tables, he can tell a client early what the other side is likely to do and what a judge is likely to find persuasive.

Mr. Fox was born on a Naval Base in Connecticut and grew up in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. He still lives there with his wife and three children, and he coaches his children in youth sports.
