Founding Attorney Attorney Bio Robert R. Castro is the founding attorney of Castro Law Group. He has practiced law in Maryland since 1993 and in the District of Columbia since 2014, representing clients in personal injury and criminal defense matters across both jurisdictions. That dual licensure matters more in Southern Maryland than it does elsewhere. A crash on the Beltway, an arrest that starts in one jurisdiction and charges that land in another, a client who lives in Charles County and works in the District. Cases here cross the line constantly, and Mr. Castro can follow them. His practice covers car accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, dog bites, DUI and DWI, and serious criminal charges. Over the past three decades he has handled over 4,000 personal injury cases, achieving more than $120 million in settlements, and has represented clients in over 10,000 criminal cases. Mr. Castro has lived in Charles County since 1979. He graduated from Thomas Stone High School in 1984, where he was captain of the varsity wrestling, soccer, and baseball teams. Forty-five years in one county means he knows the courthouse in La Plata, the prosecutors, and the judges who will hear the case. Clients who have been through a Maryland courtroom before understand what that is worth. Clients who have not usually find out at the first hearing. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America, School of Law in 1991 and his Bachelor of Science from Frostburg State University in 1988. He also built and ran businesses before and alongside his legal career, which shapes how he evaluates a file. He will tell a client what a case is realistically worth and what it will cost to get there, including when the honest answer is that the number is lower than the client hoped. Mr. Castro negotiates hard with insurance companies and corporate defendants, and tries cases when a fair settlement does not come. He returns phone calls within 24 hours, schedules evenings and weekends when a client cannot get away during business hours, and handles personal injury matters on a contingency basis. He has been married to his wife, Lucy Castro, since 1997, and they have two children. He remains active in the community he has lived in nearly his entire life. robert@castrolawgroup.com (301) 241-0436 Ext. 1000
